This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for our local community.
1. News.
Jack FM's local news is between 6am and 7pm (weekdays) when we have local, national and international news bulletins every hour (and on the half hour at peak 'drive' periods). At other times we take Sky News Radio/IRN national/international news. At the weekend we have local news reviews, along with the national and international news provided by Sky News Radio/IRN (http://www.irn.co.uk/). To see the sort of local news we cover click HERE. 5. Automation.
During an average weekday our daytime programming (0600-1900) is live 0600-0900. Outside of these hours, there is usually a producer or studio manager on hand controlling the programmes, such as the links between the songs and all the other JACK programming features.
Our programming all comes from our studios in Knebworth Park. We do not take any networked shows that you'd hear on any other station.
7. Ofcom Localness Guidelines and how to complain to OFCOM
Ofcom, the government regulator with responsibilities for local radio, has produced localness guidelines that this station adheres to. These guidelines can be read HERE
In addition all local radio stations have written formats that they must follow at all times. You can read ours HERE

9. Events/charities support or coverage
We regularly promote and support local charities on our Jacktivities (What's On). Jack's Girls also regularly visit charitable fairs, open days and fetes in the Hertfordshire towns and villages we cover.
10. The station's playlist and the music we play.
We play what we want! Quite frankly if it's great we'll play it. It doesn't matter when a song is from. We play a whole bunch of songs from the 60's until now. All mixed up. We have a library of thousands of songs so if you don't like what your hearing just now, hang in there...
